Today I am sharing Furkan’s dream, She is an Inclusive Leadership Advisor & CEO at Diversein.

She does an amazing job, she speaks at international conferences telling her story, inclusive leadership and empowering women in tech.

She has been delivering online training, interactive workshops and 1-on-1 sessions with small and engaging groups talking about inclusion.

Nowadays this is an important topic that we all should be aware of.

When I met her, I didn’t have many information about it but I have been learning a lot thanks to her.

Dreamer: Furkan Karayel, Inclusive Leadership Advisor & CEO at Diversein.com

Q: What is your dream?

A: My dream is to plant the seeds of inclusive leadership on global leadership and train 1000 leaders by 2021 to recognise and practice inclusive behaviors in multinational workplaces aiming to grow intercultural team engagement leading to global success.

Q: Why is this dream important to you?

A: I started my childhood dream job as a software engineer in Ireland. I was over the moon! Working in multinational companies for more than 10 years in total, I realised that diversity and inclusion words were being used as a marketing tool. Additionally, in tech industry, women were always minority, especially in the leadership. Women with different backgrounds in the leadership didn’t even exist at all! This was my wakeup call… and I had to do something about it!

Q: How will your dream impact the world or a person?

A: In organisations, managers position in the middle of employees and executives. Their approach to inclusive leadership impacts the most number of people. If a leader influences 10 people on average, then by 2021, my inclusive leadership seeds grow and have an impact on the lives of 10000 people to make equal and happier workplaces

Q: What advice can you give other people that are gathering the courage to follow their dreams?

A: Enjoy your journey! Acknowledge that it’s not easy. Reframe failures as learnings on the way and keep going.

Q: How can other people support you in making a difference with your dream?

A: Join our movement to make equal and happier workplaces.
