Day 24 #100daysofsharingdreams • Empowering Tz’utujil Maya women weavers preserving culture through fair-trade business and innovative textile design.

I found this amazing initiative thanks to our dream 4 from @stitchaway_designs.

Cojolya is a fair trade association of Mayan women weavers in Santiago, by the lake Atitlan, in Guatemala. They sell handmade textiles all around the world.

They want to improve the lives of artisans and their families, they are a certified Fair Trade organization dedicated to the conservation of the tradition, not as a historical relic, but as an economically viable source of employment for their women weavers.

You can donate, buy from their website or become a partner like @stitchaway_designs.

Let’s support our local artisans to have a better quality of life.
